Spring Bathroom Refresh & New Bathroom Decor

I have a couple of projects that I want to get done around the house. I have some bathroom decorating ideas in mind, and I have decided to complete some DIY bathroom decor projects and make new purchases to go along with them.

If you are looking to spruce up the bathroom wall decor in your home, these ideas are here to inspire you.

We went to Hobby Lobby first. I chose my fabric, picked up my other upholstery supplies, and then we headed on over to Home Depot.

Gold Rust-Oleum spray paint

I needed to pick up some paint. So I ended up choosing my go-to and it is the gold Rust-Oleum.

Spray-painting the bench frame gold

Here you will see that I am spray painting a bench. It is actually the frame of a bench. This is one that Shonda found at a thrift store several years ago and it ended up not working out for her.

She changed around some of her design ideas and it was no longer going to work, but I always loved this bench and I knew that it would be pretty in my bathroom so she gave it to me. I wanted to brighten and refresh it a little bit.

We both always thought that this was such a pretty piece and so I'm so excited to have it now.

When she bought it, it had a cushion on that was old and needed to be reupholstered. So we took that off and threw it away, starting with the metal frame, and we went on from there.

I did pick up a piece of wood while I was at the Home Depot.

So after spray painting and leaving it overnight, it is the next day and we're going to get started with the reupholstering.

Batting for the bench
Cut wood for the bench

Now I'm going to be doing a refresh in the primary bathroom. And that is where this bench is going to go, so I have all of my supplies here. I am considering this to be the start of my spring cleaning.

My husband has cut the wood for me and written the date that he cut it and put a little heart on it.

Measuring and cutting the foam

I set about getting the foam cut down to size and then, I decided to trim a little bit more off so it'll be a little bit easier to handle.

Stapling the foam

I began stapling it here, as you can see, and then I thought about it more and realized that I could have done the batting at the same time.

Wood with the date

So I went back and added that.

Upholstering the bench

I ended up buying half a yard of fabric and as pretty as the fabric is, the cost wasn't very expensive at all. I love that pretty shade of gray. It also has a velvet feel to it. So it looks luxe, but it certainly didn't cost a whole lot.

Placing the wall art

With the refresh here in the bathroom, I am going to be changing out all of the wall decor. What I've had in there has been up for two years and I'm tired of looking at it. So I picked this piece up from Ross. I love the scale of it. I feel like it fits the space better.

New wall art with gold foil

I bought these ones as a set. They also came from Ross, and I love the gold foil that is in them. It also has that beautiful shade of blue that is very close to the color of my walls here in the bathroom.

New wall art above the bath

I've been enjoying the changes that I've made here in the bathroom. I went ahead and touched up the paint. I do that periodically. I always keep my paint colors on hand, you know, for any little small touch-ups.

Glam bathroom decor

I didn't really make a whole lot of changes here in the bathroom, but the ones that I did made a pretty big impact.

Bathroom with accents of gold

I am on the lookout for some new towels next.

Revamped bench

Here is the bench. It turned out so beautifully.

Framed baby pictures

I have changed out the frames here for our baby pictures as well. The ones that I had before had more of a vintage feel to them and I love them, but I felt like with the wall decor that I chose to go with now these more modern frames accent them better. I picked those up from Home Goods.
