Picking the right brick house trim colors is always a tough choice for a lot of people. So I wanted to show you guys some of the options.

Let's simplify the process for you, making it a breeze to pick up your preferred paint from your favorite store. No need to navigate through an overwhelming array of 10,000 different shades of white!

Choosing colors for brick

There are tons of options that you could choose from when it comes to exterior trim colors and interior trim colors, of course, but I narrowed it down to a few so it would make it easy on you guys.

Old Mobile and Old Chicago bricks

I also wanted to mention that the Old Mobile and Old Chicago bricks are all reclaimed; they are super old bricks, which means that they were all made in a method that is not done anymore. That is the reason why you can't find them in stores anymore.

Old Chicago has a little more of a yellow tinge

Old Chicago has a little more of a yellow tinge to it. And you know, I don't advocate for painting bricks. So, we're going to learn to love our yellow-tinged brick and pick a few trim colors that will match perfectly with them and blend in great.

The best thing about both of these types of brick is that they have so many colors in them that there are lots and lots of ways that you can blend colors.

Roman Column, West Highland White, Shoji White, and Ivory Lace

So, I've chosen four Sherwin-Williams colors: Roman Column, West Highland White, Shoji White, and Ivory Lace.

Blending paint colors with Old Chicago brick

You guys can see that they all blend really really well with Old Chicago brick. Some of them are a little more gray and some of them a little more cream with the yellow in the paint pulling that yellow out of the brick. And each color pulls a little different piece of the brick out and blends really well with everything happening with those.

Okay, so let's move on to the Old Mobile brick. I can't hold these ones up because they're not on a board, but sometimes they'll come with a little bit of white paint or a little bit of black paint. And of course, they've got that kind of tan undertone to everything.

How to choose the best trim colors

So the house trim colors that I chose for this are Dover White, White Flower, or my favorite paint color on Earth, Greek Villa. My house is actually Old Mobile brick, and Greek Villa is the pink trim color that I'm using.

I have an old fireplace made of old brick with the southwest colors. I would like that wall to have a pop of colors. Maybe in the reds or dark warm tones I really don’t know. Any ideas would be most helpful.. grammylu2@gmail.com
