Pretty Spring Porch Decor Ideas For the New Season

Today I am sharing my outdoor living space to show off some spring porch decor you will absolutely love.

As I thought about the direction that I wanted to go in with this makeover, I knew that I mostly wanted to use the spring home decor I already had on hand.

However, I would need a few supplemental pieces of front porch decor for spring to create the look I wanted.

So I headed over to Hobby Lobby to check out their line of spring decorations and gather some spring decor ideas that I had not thought of yet.

Pretty spring fabric

First, I found this really pretty pattern of fabric.

Welcome mats

Then, I decided to change out my doormat while I was there, and I was glad to see that there was a fifty percent sale on doormats. Getting my porch ready for the summer season has been on my to-do list for quite some time, so I was glad to be getting it done.

Spring home decor DIYs

Here are the three DIY projects I completed for my porch makeover with the supplies I bought at Hobby Lobby and had at home.

Gold frame

1. Wall decor

I mentioned previously that I wanted to use several things that I already had at home. And this frame is one of them. It came from Hobby Lobby around five years ago.

They still have these in stock, but they were not on sale recently when I was there so I am taking paint that I already have to give it a fresh makeover of its own. I do not want gold on my front porch and this is an off-white.

It doesn’t have to look perfect because I kind of want it to have a distressed look. I ended up putting two coats of paint on it, and it turned out beautifully.

Here is a look at it all finished.

Cutting the fabric

Now I am going to use the pretty fabric I found. I bought one yard of it and paid full price. When I look about it in the grand scheme of things, I am still getting a new piece of front porch decor and I didn’t pay much for it at all. I am cutting it down to size.

Framing the fabric

Instead of stapling or tacking it down, I decided to simply hot glue it since it is so lightweight. From start to finish, this DIY probably took me thirty to forty-five minutes to complete, including the drying time.

I was so happy about that because I had several other projects to complete and this one turned out so nicely.

Pulling the fabric back

I did end up pulling the fabric back slightly to attach the nail hanger, but that was a simple fix.

Placing the smaller wreath inside the larger one

2. Wreath

Now I am going to move on to DIY number two. I am taking two wreaths that I already had and placing the smaller one inside the larger one.

Bicycle decor piece for the wreath

Next, I am adding a bicycle decor piece to the wreath with some floral wire. This piece is the inspiration for the entire porch theme and I found it at Burlingame.

Adding florals around the perimeter of the wreath

I also decided to add some florals around the perimeter of the wreath.

Making a bow

I am not the best bow maker, but I did make this one by hand to add to the wreath as well. A nice big bow on a wreath is an absolute must.

Bicycle decor

3. Bicycle decor

Now I will get into the last DIY project for my porch. This beautiful wrought-iron bicycle came from a thrift store about three years ago.

Floral decor

Florals make me happy, so I do like to add florals to my decor pieces when I can.

Outdoor rug with a sun design

Here comes the fun part, actually beginning to decorate this porch. Would you believe I found this great outdoor rug at pOpshelf?

Planters with caladiums, creeping jenny, and wandering Jew

I also decided to put some new plants in my planters this year so I selected caladiums, creeping jenny, and wandering Jew. My front porch gets a lot of full sun but not too much, so I think they will all do okay. I really like to have plants that spill over the side of the wail because, to me, it is aesthetically pleasing.

Little wooden table

Now I am going to bring back this little wooden table. I got it last year when it was marked 90% off at Hobby Lobby at the end of the summer season.

Tall candleholders either side of a sofa

People have asked me about these tall candleholders, and I got them at Kirklands. I have had them for a number of years. Maybe even ten years or more. I absolutely love them and I don’t have the heart to ever get rid of them.

DIY wall art

Here is my DIY wall art. When I hung it up, I had to stand back and admire it for a minute because it was so pretty.

Little pillows on the chairs

Now these little pillows were the perfect accent. I picked up two of them while I was at pOpshelf.

Now we are going to look over here. I have a wine rack on my front porch that I did not have room for inside so I moved it outside. It has weathered just fine.

DIY wreath

I also placed my DIY wreath on the front door.

Spring porch decor

Here is the completed project. I think it looks amazing and ready for spring.
