How to Create a Beautiful Thanksgiving Tablescape: 9 Ideas

Tablescapes are a visually pleasing way to set a table around a certain theme and today, I will be showing you a simple and chic Thanksgiving tablescape that you can create at home.

This is actually one of my favorite Thanksgiving tablescape ideas that I've ever put together. I brought a lot of elements from the outside in, getting some fresh fruits and berries, as well as some greenery from my front and backyard.

A modern Thanksgiving tablescape is much simpler to create than you might imagine. With a few fabulous finds at retailers near you and the bounty nature provides, you can build beautiful Thanksgiving tablescapes in minutes.

1. White runner

I'm starting out with a white table runner from HomeGoods. This table runner costs about $16.99 right now, and it has a beautiful pattern. I wanted something a little different this year, so I will use my table runner as my base, and then I will decorate upward from there.

2. Gold tapered candle holders

Next, I will add some gold tapered candle holders that I purchased from Target. This was actually the last set that I saw on the shelves at target. The original price was $30, but I got the set of three for $15.

3. Candles

Then, I picked up these candles from Dollar Tree, so this tablescape did not cost a lot. It was definitely affordable and so beautiful at the end.

4. Greenery

I also have some greenery that I basically just plucked from my front yard and my backyard. I have no idea what these stems are called, but they're very green, very robust, and I thought that they would give the table that natural yet elegant element.

For this tablescape, I will use the greenery to create a lush runner, and I would suggest adding your gold tapered candle holders first and weave the greenery around the tapered candle holders to create the center of the centerpiece.

Adding the candle holders first makes it easier so that you don't have to move the table runner once you place the greenery down.

If you'll be using fresh foliage like I did, try to get foliage that is different sizes and shapes, as well as different variations of green, because that will create a contrast for your runner.

5. Berries

Now that my tablescape is almost complete, I will add more berries.

6. Fresh fruit

Then, I'll begin adding my fresh fruit. I have some bosc pears, and I decided to add eight, so I'll add two on one end, four in the middle, and then two on the other end.

Now, I'll begin adding some plums and, honestly, the best fruits come from your local farmer’s market. So make sure to check out your local farmer’s market soon because you'll get the most unique and fresh looking fruits available.

After that, I will add some seckel pears, which are so cute, and they add such a unique touch to this tablescape as well as the centerpiece.

After adding the pears, I'll then add some fresh figs. What is a Thanksgiving or fall tablescape without fresh figs? They add such a beautiful contrast in color, shape, and size.

I decided to cut the figs open to see the beautiful variations of color on the inside, but it's all up to you. You can leave them whole or decide to cut them open like I did.

7. Pumpkin candles

Now that I'm done adding my fresh produce on the table, I'll add these cute little pumpkin candles that I picked up from HomeGoods.

They add that extra shimmer to the tablescape because they have a gold shimmer on them, and you can tuck them in on either side of your runner.

I've also featured my flatware before. These are gold flatware that I purchased from Amazon, and they have lasted me for many years.

Now, onto glassware. The water glasses I've had in my collection for years, and the red wine glasses I recently purchased from HomeGoods. I got them as a set of four for under $20. So you definitely can't beat that.
