How to Style and Refresh Your Home With Wire Baskets

Hello and welcome to my weekend inspiration! This weekend, I’m feeling inspired by wire baskets. I have these three wire baskets that I use throughout my home.

Now, yours might look different, but instead of getting tired of them and getting rid of them, I want to inspire you to change things up a bit.

You can use these baskets in different locations around your home and keep them for a lifetime.

After all, you picked them up for a reason—because you love them! So, let’s go ahead and get started.

Bathroom Basket

Here’s one that I’ve styled for the bathroom. I simply added a couple of towels and some other small items, and you can see how it’s changed the look just a bit.

This would be wonderful in a guest bathroom.

You can also add a few seasonal items, like a couple of pumpkins or an ornament or two for the holidays, and the same basket can be used to hold useful items in your bathroom.

Office Basket

Next, let’s move over to the office. There are so many different ways to use a wire basket here. I’m showing you one example where I’ve placed my address book and everyday books that I might need to pull out while I’m working.

I’ve added a pencil caddy, which in my case is a mug, and some scissors that I like to keep handy. A bit of greenery, like a faux plant from Hobby Lobby, completes the look.

This setup would be perfect for spring and summer, but you can easily change it up for fall by adding a couple of pumpkins or for winter by swapping in a little tree or something festive for the season.

Hutch Basket

Now, if you’re getting tired of your wire basket in the office, let’s see what we can do with it on a hutch or buffet.

On my hutch, I decided to go with a farmhouse style. I added some linens from Target—a 12-pack of simple white kitchen linens.

You could add a rolling pin to this setup as well. I also included some vintage silver in a little ironstone creamer, and I love how it all came together.

As fall arrives, you could add a couple of pumpkins to this setup, but there’s no need to change everything out—just a couple of items to make it seasonal.

In this wire basket on my hutch, I added a cutting board, an old scale, and some vintage towels.

When autumn arrives, you can easily add a pumpkin to give it a seasonal touch, and it's simple to change the arrangement for different seasons.

Kitchen Basket

Using the same wire basket, I placed the cutting board in the back and added some rooster dishes along with red, white, and blue checkered towels.

In the little creamer, I arranged some summer flowers, and I think it turned out adorable. I also added some of my country crocks around it.

You can easily change it up for the season—just swap in some fall towels and add a little pumpkin, and it looks great for any time of year.

Here, I’ve used a larger wire basket, inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. I wanted to see if I had enough Rae Dunn pieces to display, and I just managed to fit everything in. I added my crock of utensils on the side, and since it’s fall, I displayed some fall foliage as well.

Here’s another version of this wire basket. You can easily swap out the seasonal touches for other times of the year, making this setup work for summer, spring, or even Christmas.

Believe it or not, I only have one cookbook since I get most of my recipes online, but I decided to display it. If you have more, you can showcase them as well. I added some copper cookie cutters in a jar, along with mushroom-shaped measuring spoons, and placed my old mixer in the crock to complete the display.

Picnic Basket

Here’s another idea—if you’re planning a picnic, a wire basket can be a great alternative to a wicker basket. A wire basket is sturdier and less likely to blow away in the wind, making it perfect for holding paper plates, napkins, and other picnic essentials. I added a spread, some cutting boards, little bowls, a candle, and even some mugs. This setup is perfect for a day out at the park, enjoying a leisurely lunch and maybe feeding some ducks.

Pantry Baskets

Finally, let’s talk about using wire baskets in the pantry. When I found these baskets on sale at Lowe’s, I grabbed as many as I could. I could have used one more, but Larry added bases and wheels to them, so now I can easily roll them out, grab what I need, and put them back. They help keep the pantry organized and make cleaning easier since nothing sits directly on the floor.

Potting Shed Basket

And last but not least, if you’re totally tired of your wire basket being inside, why not use it in your potting shed or on your potting bench? It adds extra storage and makes your potting area look adorable.

You could even fill it with planting grass and use it outside in your landscape or on your porch until it eventually rusts away. There’s no need to get rid of those beautiful wire baskets you picked out—they’re so useful in any part of your home, inside and out.

Thanks for joining me in this weekend’s inspiration!
