1. Switch Out Bulky Hangers for Slim Ones
First tip: ditch the bulky plastic hangers and switch to thin, smooth fabric hangers. Not only do these look sleeker, but they also save tons of storage space! Believe it or not, thick hangers take up way more room than you’d expect, and replacing them can give you a lot more space for clothes in your closet.

2. Raise Your Bed for Extra Storage
One of Sharrah's favorite tricks is to use bed risers to lift your bed. This simple upgrade creates a lot of under-bed storage, which is perfect for stashing items you don’t use every day, like seasonal clothes or spare blankets. They’re adjustable and super sturdy.

3. Use Vacuum Storage Bags
Next up, vacuum-sealed storage bags! These are amazing for packing away items you aren’t currently using, like sweaters or seasonal clothing. Store them under the bed, and you’ll free up closet space without sacrificing your favorite pieces—they make a big difference in reducing bulk.

4. Invest in an IKEA Pax Wardrobe System
Convince your partner (or save up yourself) for an IKEA Pax wardrobe system. It's not as expensive as you’d think, and it provides tons of flexibility when organizing your closet.
Jenna loves how customizable it is—she even added a jewelry tray for her necklaces and a separate section for pants, which helps keep everything organized. The separate storage for pants is especially useful so they don’t get squished between shirts and dresses.
Also, make sure you color-coordinate your hanging clothes. It makes getting dressed easier because you can see all your options at a glance and choose an outfit based on your mood.
5. Limit Your Shoe Collection to Fit Your Space
In Jenna's case, she counted the number of shoe slots she had in the hanging shoe storage shelves and challenged herself to keep only the number of shoes that fit. Anything extra had to be stored elsewhere or donated.
Of course, this tip works beyond shoes; see the space you have to work with, then declutter based on what will fit.

Bonus Tip: Declutter with Purpose
Whenever you’re organizing, remember: less is more. Donate or discard items that are out of style or no longer useful. Holding onto items for a hypothetical occasion (like the “one day I’ll need these shoes” mindset) just creates clutter.
I hope you enjoyed these tips on bedroom storage and organization.
